RELIEF PROJECT (LIFESAVING PROJECT )

SAYS have been worked in the target community since 2002 and It is the leading most presence organization in Borama, Baki, Lughaya, Gebiley and Zeylac. SAYS has been operational in the area of undertaking developmental and lifesaving activities in the past 18 years and assisted an average over hundred thousands of the people in Need, Currently SAYS is implementing relief efforts supported by WFP that look at cushioning communities from the affects of cyclone Sagar and the Drought that afflicted through ongoing Relief program (lifesaving assistance) to 8916 HH of Most Poorest HH, at 60 Villages in   Baki, Lughaya and Zeylac Districts.

SAYS is starting Community Sensititization ,

It will allow cultivation of good standing in the local communities in areas of  operation through clear, timely and adequate communication on the project objectives, activities and expected outcomes,  aimed at raising awareness about the project and its intended objective and benefits.

SAYS seeks to complement the on-going humanitarian efforts to provide multi-sectoral solutions for the most vulnerable households for 15777 HH, Target Beneficaries in Zaila, and Lughaya district, where households are still recovering from the impact of Cyclone Sagar.

The project will support enhanced integration of gender issues into all the facets of project. This will ensure consideration of gender issues incorporated into the programme cycle especially at the design phase and implementation of activities for fostering gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The project objective is to provide poor and vulnerable rural households with predictable cash transfers to withstand shocks and stresses, as well as build human capital, and providing quarterly unconditional predictable cash transfers to the most destitute households.
